点评:Place is beautiful: peaceful and relaxing.
I was there with 3 other people. We came there after attending a wedding, and since we were dressed up, we decided to stop by and take some pictures.
We walked in and purchased tickets. We were asked right away if we were part of the wedding venue happening at their place. We responded not, and continued with our business.
As we walked into the garden, we started taking pictures with OUR own phones, nothing professional just regular phones.
Not even 500 feet away, we were approached by an African American man (must be a security or part of staff) saying: "What's going on here, you are taking professional pictures?" We responded saying no, we are taking pictures with our phones, and there are no professional pictures taken. After a short conversation, he let us go. Not even another 500 feet we were approached by another 2 ladies (staff) asking us again if we are taking professional pictures. After explaining the same story, we were let go. A few feet later we were approached by another man and woman, who appeared to be managers. We tried to explain the same story, but it didn't work out this way.
Lady was direct enough to tell us that we were TOO DRESSED to be regular customers and we are taking professional pictures which was not allowed. I did not know that Anderson Japanese Garden had a dress code. I guess we should have been dressed as bums and homelessness.
My friends and I felt so discriminated against for the way we were dressed up. We felt insulted and betrayed. And not just that, other people visiting the park were looking at us and we were so embarrassed. We felt like criminals. Just because someone assumes that we were taking pictures professionally, we were treated the way we were treated. The unconscionable behavior by the employees was grossly irresponsible. The matter of how they forced us to leave was beyond embarrassing to us and witnessed by others in the park.
