点评：Just back. Brothers Bill and Bob started from the Starboard Grill in Port Alberni with a pre -expedition meal and acclimatised, to the central island heat before setting off to Scout Beach Camp. The next morning we paddled our canoe and gear for 4 and a half hours to the trail head in calm conditions arriving at 10:30AM we then stored the canoe on the rack and hiked up to Margaret Creek campsite for the night after a 5 hour hike. Next day the climb was steeper and challenging , the rope crossing ,around the boulder field worth bringing gloves for.Camped at the falls after a 7 hour hike. In the morning we got great views of the lower falls the only people there makes this a special experience in the early morning sunshine. The return to the Great Central Lake was straight forward, where a swim was enjoyed. Food was consumed, our cooking gas depleted, we left early in the morning for a 4 and three quarter paddle back to Scout Beach Campsite into an head wind arriving at 12:00 noon. We packed the vehicle with the canoe for return journey and checked the tie downs at Great Central after half an hour on the Ash Logging Roads. A celebratory meal was had at the Starboard Grill in Port Alberni. The staff and chef looked after us perfectly, quenching our thirst and hunger. Thank you also for a car park where we could keep an eye on the canoe.
