点评:Treblinka's historcal significance is as an extermination camp. The last of the three Operation Reinhard camps to be built and the most infamous. Death came by being worked to death, shooting and largely in the gas chambers. Depending on what books you read or research on the net, close to 900,000 souls lost their lives here in 13 months. These were mainly Jews, Poles, Sinti & Russians.
The camp was blown up, bodies were burnt and very little remains of the original camp. What is left is a haunting reminder of mans cruelty to fellow man. There are two camps I & II, I had a huge quarry you can walk too. The museum does not have much memorabilia but does posses an excellent model of the camp, so you can see the positioning of various buildings and their purpose.
As I said in the title, it was very interesting but extremely unpleasant.
