点评：The Basilica of St. James is a large three-aisled basilica with a long, high chancel and is the third longest church building in Prague. It was originally founded in 1232 but was destroyed by fire in 1686 by the invading French and was rebuilt in its current Baroque style in the 18th century. Ignore the current Trip Advisor map point as this is completely wrong, but hopefully might have been corrected by the time you read this. It’s fairly easy to find in the Old Town being halfway between the Old Town Square and the Square at Náměstí Republiky and is about a five-minute walk from either.
There is a sign on the front door saying no photographs, but I am sorry when you have a church interior this good it just begs to be recorded. The ceiling is very impressive but some of the paintings and sculptures that adorn the twenty plus alters are stunning. It is a church that should be explored at leisure.
