点评：The Hessenpark is a wonderful open-air museum that I’ve enjoyed visiting at different points in my life. My very first visit was on a school excursion in elementary school, and the memory of trying pottery as well as the overall experience there have stayed with me ever since. Over the years I’ve returned several times - with friends, with my boyfriend, and most recently with my mother and boyfriend both - and each visit has offered something new.
One of the highlights has been the fall market, which I’ve been able to experience twice now, last year and the year before. The atmosphere is fantastic, with stalls offering delicious seasonal food and drinks, as well as all kinds of creative and charming items, perfect as gifts or souvenirs. Even outside of special events, there’s plenty to explore: the historic houses with their furnished interiors give a vivid sense of daily life in the past, and the exhibitions, like the one on the history of photography, are both enjoyable and informative.
Hessenpark is a place where history comes alive in a truly engaging way, and it’s just as enjoyable to visit as an adult as it was years ago as a child. A destination I can wholeheartedly recommend!
