点评：This was number one on my son’s wishlist for our trip to Japan in May. He’s played Nintendo since he was 4, and even at 30+ years old, he still loves it. He’s had every single console ever made since 1995. We entered two accounts in the lottery when it opened, 3 months in advance. Sadly, we didn’t get in, but we got lucky because there were cancellations for the day we wanted, even though the time was different. We took the train from Kyoto, and our entry time was 4 PM. They are very strict on checking IDs before entering. The names on the tickets were verified with your passport.
As previous reviewers have written, the museum is two floors. Interactive games are on the first floor, and Nintendo history is on the second floor. I was amazed by the broad range of ages enjoying the museum, from young children to middle-aged adults. Just as many girls as boys, and even pregnant women and moms with babies in slings.
I was happy watching my son thoroughly enjoy himself. All the people working there were very nice and helpful. They gladly took pictures for people and answered any questions.
The last stop was the museum store, which had lots of nostalgic memorabilia. We were there for 3.5 hours, and even though we didn’t enter until 4 PM, there was plenty of time since they are open until 8 PM in the summer. We didn’t stop at the Nintendo Cafe since we decided to eat at Kappa Sushi nearby.
