点评:Had never heard of this place until we started looking for things to do in the area. One of the best historic villages I have been to.
Sauder Village should probably be more well known outside the area. Definitely worth the two hour drive from where we live. Located about 45 minutes west of Toledo. Started by the founder of the Sauder Woodworking Company, which is known for furniture you assemble yourself.
Sauder village is divided into three areas. One area is a collection of buildings showing 1800’s crafts. Another area is a 1920’s small town. The final area is collection of pioneer area buildings.
We went here on a Saturday in July and it was fairly crowded. Almost every building we went into there was someone explaining about the history of the building or a demonstration of what they were working on.
Besides the historic village, they also had a train ride and horse drawn carriage that could take you around and a museum.
Besides the village, there is also a Sauder outlet and a restaurant that serves a buffet and other cooked meals.
Costs $28 per adult and $22 per child ($2 off off if a AAA member), which is a little bit steep but it will take you 4-5 hours to see it all.
