A Bit Overhyped, But Still Worth Visiting

点评：Corvin Castle was the whole reason I came to this part of Romania, a five hour train journey from Brasov and a nearly 9 hour one back to Bucharest (from Deva). You get to Hunedoara, Romania, which is the town where this castle is, by a mini bus that begins near the Deva train station. There's also vans that do the trip, but that bus costs $13 dollars each way in Romanian currency. So not much at all. It's then a 15 minute walk to the castle. A bit harder to see than the fort in Deva, as it isn't high up and obscured by buildings until you get closer to it. The castle itself cost fifty Romanian to enter.
There's a torture display as soon as you cross the drawbridge (enter the castle) in a room on your left with mannequins. A simpler one in s room to the right too. A knight's armor and some weird artwork can be found in other rooms, along with clothing of medieval era, and dining tables and other furniture in other rooms.
I found it a bit overhyped. It wasn't as impressive in "person" so to speak as I thought it would be from the small amount I'd seen about it online. It also has a lot of scaffolding over some of the towers and castle a the moment.
I didn't think the interior was as well done as Bran Castle. Albeit there weren't anywhere near the number of tourists inside. But it is worth a visit. While you're in the area you should also check out the fortress in Deva and Deva itself.
