Wonderful day out at the Abbey!
Forde Abbey & Gardens的点评
点评：Marvellous day at Forde Abbey, once the rain cleared. We spent the morning walking in the gardens enjoying the trees, the wild flowers, the bog garden especially and the lovely beds of colourful flowers. The gardens enhance a varied landscape on several levels, and with accompanying watery sounds connecting the large ponds. Don't miss the large fountain experience, likely at 12.30 and 2.30.
Lunch at the cafe was very good, great staff service and delicious food : substantial sausage roll and salad plus a very substantial fresh egg sandwich with salad. We paid £22.00 including coffee and a ginger beer and felt this was a fair price now (Sept 2025) for two light lunches.
We the spent a good hour or more visiting the house, which was a delight. We were impressed by the tapestries, and the cloisters and much more.
