点评:This is a National Parkin the suburbs of metropolitan Washington that is a must for a day visit. The admission charge is 20.00 per car but there are various passes available. It is good for both sides of the park. The Maryland side has the boardwalk to Olmstead Island and the famous Billy Goat Trail but is less developed than the Virginia side which has a snack bar, visitors center, expansive picnic area with grills and multiple hiking possibilities with numerous overlook points. Very dramatic in beauty however the infrastructure is poor. This park is in need of a major cash infusion. There are only two rest room facilities and these are run down and old fashioned. The snack bar looks dubious. The visitors center is often closed and there is litter all over ( not the fault of the park) and trails often overgrown with weeds. The River Trail provides the most scenic hiking.
