点评:After playing three Donald Ross courses, all traditional in nature, playing TR is like landing on the moon. The landscapes are recognizable but unexpected on a golf course. Strantz, course architect, is known for pushing the envelope which he does right from naming the tees Ripper, Disc, Plow etc. instead of red, white, blue. Strantz is very good at visual intimidation from virtually every tee box. Actually playing the course is not nearly so daunting.
#1 and #13 are the most controversial with the tee shot on #1 from a high vantage point looking down a narrow canyon like what you 'd see a National Park in Utah. #13 is a three shot hole for all but the very brash. The opening to the green is tiny with at least half the pin placements not visible from 70 yards as the green is set in a bowl that is really more like a saucer.
Having said that, you are never bored with no two holes remotely resembling each other. There are opportunities to hit every type of shot you can think of.
Purists might have their sensibilities offended but for everyone else it's a fun 18.
