“Beware of This Tourist Trap – Disappointing Experience at Harzturm”

点评：We recently visited Harzturm, attracted by the viewing platform and the giant slide, which our kids were thrilled to try. The entry fee was 15 euros per adult, with kids under six free. Unfortunately, we were not informed when purchasing tickets that the slide was closed, leading to a very disappointing experience.
Upon reaching the top and realizing the slide was shut, we returned to ask if it could be opened, only to be met with a rude and defensive response from the staff. They falsely claimed they had told us the slide was closed and refused to open it. When we asked for a refund, they countered that our kids wouldn’t have been allowed on the slide anyway, as they didn’t meet the minimum height requirement of 1.30 meters—a restriction we were also never informed about. After insisting on a refund, the manager reluctantly offered a meager 6 euros discount, which we accepted to avoid further hassle with our disappointed kids in tow.
To top it off, we weren’t even allowed to go back up to the viewing platform after being denied the full experience we paid for. The staff’s unhelpful and dishonest behavior left us feeling cheated.
Advice to fellow travelers: Only go if skies are clear, and be sure to confirm with the staff whether the slide is open before purchasing tickets. Otherwise, avoid this overpriced and poorly managed attraction.
