点评:Tickets are still limited for these guided tours so we were lucky to get some. The tour lasts 90 min. You arrive at the security office for a briefing before going in you own cars in a convoy to the new building where you meet your guide, all this could have been done at the second building. You stick close to the guide or nearby and I was lucky that a volunteer near us showed me the buses and tram. They encourage you to take pictures, not to touch the exhibits but if you are staying close to your guide you miss a lot. Our guide was very knowledgeable. and I sked him questions on the items he was not talking about. The route seems to be a set path covering up to 6 -7 exhibits and a tour of their smaller exhibits. I'd skip this bit and allow public to roam and look at the larger items they are interested in. We were told on numerous times it is not a museum but a working collection. That is a poor excuse for everyone having to wear pink Hi Vis vests, with nothing moving. Okay they are new to having public visits but it is not a private collection it is a national collection. Imagine going to the National Railway Museum weaning hi vis vests and be guided to only a few of the exhibits, and the LT transport museum at Acton is a collection with fixed open days and they let people walk around their exhibits. Excellent collection, but guided tours only give a flavour of what they have on site. Aeroplanes are still locked away in other hangers with no public access.
