Enjoyable castle visit

点评：My family has stated that this was their favorite attraction we visited in Scotland. We chose to come here instead of Stirling and it turned out to be a great decision. We had done Edinburg castle and Hollyroodhouse the previous two days and were a bit Victorianed out. The castle is sparse and medieval. The grounds are very nice also.
There is an included audio tour. Use it! I was stressed before we got there because there were instructions for downloading and using on your phone and more than half our party only had internet access on WiFi. However, when we got there they gave us the recorders to use. There is no WiFi and limited cell signal in the castle itself. We all loved the Monty Python narration. It was informative and funny. There were a few Outlander narrations also. We’ve all seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail and some of us have read Outlander and Game of Thrones. These have clearly brought more tourists but I think the castle had appeal outside of the fandom.
