点评：While in Prescott Park, I noticed that the "love locks" are back again on the fence by the river. A love lock fence is one on which couples attach padlocks as a gesture of their love, with the key thrown away to represent a permanent bond. It's a form of public art that began in Europe and spread nationwide (obviously including Portsmouth). The city removed love locks a few years ago because they were making the fencing too heavy and there was a risk of the fence falling into the river. Well, the locks are back. Some people think it's romantic, others (like myself) think it's dumb and an eyesore that detracts from the views of the river and Memorial Bridge. However, the rest of Prescott Park is great, and the flowers and trees are starting to bloom again now that spring is here. I saw a seagull 'couple' perched on the pier's railing -- I wonder if they left a love lock.
