COX Science Center and Aquarium的点评
点评：What a disappointment. $26.00 for adults and $22.00 for children.
We went there because our granddaughter wanted to visit an aquarium. The COX aquarium's few tanks are hardly larger than you would see at any upscale commercial tropical fish retail store ( Look at the photo on their website )
Beyond the 'Aquarium' are cheaply crafted 'put the square blocks in the square hole' puzzles for kids. The cheapest type of displays available.
An entire area that was about the same size as the 'Aquarium' was for folding paper airplanes and throwing them. It was a very inexpensive way to divert the kids attention away from absolute boredom.
Except for the visual reality flight consoles ( five minutes) , I cannot imagine a child over seven years old that would enjoy the museum. The same consoles are available at Dave and Busters for a lot less money.
There was a notice that they were preparing for a new exhibition 'Shark Week' for the next week. Maybe visiting exhibitions are better than Cox's permanent ones.
One last thing. they listed on their calendar (June 2nd) that there was a Deli Food truck and an Ice cream truck onsite for lunch. We intended to eat our lunch at the museum. There was no food truck..............My Grandkid's lunch was an overpriced ice cream twirl. ( Lunch later at 'Benny's on the Beach'. It is on the Lake Worth Pier, about fifteen minutes away.
Apparently the museum is in the midst of a huge building expansion. Who the heck was inspired enough to donate money to such a terribly structured enterprise.
IF YOU CAN'T MAKE SOMETHING BETTER, THEN JUST MAKE IT BIGGER.
P,S, The wonderful Palm Beach Zoo is only minutes away. Go there !
