点评:Took the walking tour of the campus' oldest building--and that's really saying something given the university was established in 1451--1451, that's worth repeating! Harry Potter fans know this quadrangle building, its vaulted, carved stone ceilings and central open green. Our young (student) guide was wonderful; his training had clearly been very thorough. Ironically, he was originally from Oxford, England! But when asked about leaving it for the University of Glasgow, he said it was strictly about his area of study! The stonework, the glass & lead glazing, and the Gothic details keep us engaged for over an hour. The time flew by! We also saw the famous steps edged by both a unicorn (the National animal of Scotland), and a lion (representing England). On these steps graduates often have their last pictures taken before facing the real world. One tip, should you visit: the carved stone bird is a pelican. The bookstore is definitely worth a visit, too
