Take the Time to Visit This Amazing Historic Site
Tumacacori National Historical Park的点评
点评：While a little out of the way (just a little outside of Tubac and off of Highway 19), this National Historic Site is a worthy detour. We try to take all our visitors here. It is also close to the Santa Cruz Spice Shop and the Wisdom Cafe (both also worthy stops). There is free off-street parking at the site. There is an entrance fee but you and 3 guests can get in with your Senior National Parks Pass. The staff here is always friendly and helpful. There is a self guided tour map you can use to help you go through the grounds. The grounds are easy to walk around. Be sure to watch the orientation film before you tour. It is excellent. You can get up close to the ruins and even go into the church structure. There was some presrvation efforts going on when we were there in May. There are many structures to examine and you can walk down to the orchard which is being redeveloped with heritage plants by the UA. After touring the grounds, you can walk through a snall museum area with more information and artifacts. It is laid out well. There is a small National Park gift shop at the entrance/exit with a variety of items and souveniers. There are also clean accessible restrooms on site. This is a great place to visit in conjunction with a visit to San Xavier.
