Bayou Segnette State Park的点评
点评：A rustic camping experience in the bayou.
Reviews on this state park were mixed, so I was nervous to book here. But I’m glad I did. Here is what I can tell you to help you know if this camping experience is for you:
- This place is rustic. The fire ring is small and the picnic table was peeling, but they worked fine for us. There was also a charcoal grill which I have never seen at a campsite, so I thought it was a nice touch. We were glad to have water and electric, but we couldn’t run our water heater and AC at the same time or the breaker in the power post would blow. Neighbors didn’t have this problem though.
- Pads are paved, but not entirely level. Still nice.
- The showers were very small but not gross. I used our camper shower instead.
- There is sand everywhere, and that also means ants and bugs. We were prepared for this and sprayed our camper so we didn’t get any infestations.
- We LOVED the location. A block away is a fish market, swamp tour company and excellent restaurant. Algiers ferry and/or NOLA is a short 20min drive. We also did a day trip to Dauphin Island and to USS Alabama.
- We loved biking around the roads, but if you like hiking you will be disappointed in the actual trails.
- WILDLIFE! We saw a bobcat which was so so cool. Also gators. And the frogs are SO LOUD all night which we loved. We stayed in the bayou for the nature, so we embraced it.
