点评:The site is beautiful, and the outside of the home looks great. But the inside of the house is a mess. Stuff everywhere. The student on site (docent?) was very friendly and pleasant. And sort of knowledgeable. The signage was poor, and was hard to read in the low light in most rooms. There are a lot of historic pieces in the rooms, but their presentation is hodgepodge, and lacks much context. Significant spaces in the house are off-limits to the public, being used instead as storage or work space. Some others shown in the brochure are not mentioned at all.
Additionally, and this may be an unavoidable problem due to the site being in the middle of a large college campus, but there is NO parking available at the house site. It actually took longer to find a spot and walk to the site than it did to tour the house. And the Clemson campus police officer I made the mistake of asking for help, was about the snottiest "public servant" I've come across in a long time. She was beyond pitiful.
