Fake Gold sold as genuine in the Grand Bazaar

点评：I was sold me a 22k “solid” gold ring in a gold jewellery store called Murat Kuyumculuk no. 125 in the Grand Bazaar when I was visiting Istanbul in May and the interior of my ring has started to wear away and is showing silver (photos attached). I got it tested. Unfortunately it’s not 22k solid gold at all, it’s completely fake, even though the seller who sold it to me said it was real gold, it’s stamped 22k in the interior, the seller (an older man in the door entrance of your shop in the photo attached) even weighed it in front of me and gave me a stamped receipt saying 22k gold. Also a lot of the shops in this area had this exact same ring so when the seller hadn’t my size he went off to another shop to get my size so I understand they all liaise with each other in this area! Utterly shocked and disappointed as I was on holiday in Istanbul and was excited to visit the city. I didn’t think the Grand Bazaar would sell fake 22k gold, photos attached including a photo of the shop (MURAT shop number 125) and the seller is at the entrance of the door (bald/ grey hair and glasses) who sold me my ring. Utterly disappointed.
This is deceptive shop in the Kalpakçılar Cd. of the Grand Bazaar where all these gold jewellery shops are located and I feel completely and utterly robbed. I even emailed the store directly and got no response. Other tourists need to be aware of this store and the deception and scam. Tourists please be careful. Photos attached for assistance.
