Combine your Galata Tower visit with a walk along Galata Bridge
加拉达塔的点评
点评：It was a 30 minutes walk from Taksim Square (where we were staying), but the walk itself was an attraction by itself !
We had to walk the full length of Istiklal Cadessi, which is a wide avenue bustling with activities. When we reached the Galata area, the scene suddenly changed with quaint shops along narrow busy streets sloping downwards.
We liked the Galata Tower so much that we went there twice - once in the daytime and once in the evening. It seemed more enchanting in the evening, because there was a light show on the facade of the tower. We didn’t expect it, and were just taking some photos of the night scene, when the tower suddenly lighted up in an “explosion” of colors.
What really made our visits to the Galata Tower special was that we made our way to the nearby Galata Bridge each time. Again, it was a different experience walking along the Galata Bridge in the daytime vs in the evening. So vibrant and full of life !
Together, I must say that Galata Tower and Galata Bridge capture much of the essence of Istanbul - its rich history, its beautiful scenery and its colorful vibrancy.
