点评:We were staying at a campsite nearby so we were able to walk, I think I'd have been disappointed if we had travelled especially for this.
It's nice, quirky and a bit random, but, it is definitely more suited for children under 8 years. We have a 9 year old and a 14 year old and there really wasn't much for the 14 year old.
The 9 year old did all the rides, which could all be updated, have a bit of money spent on them. There are other bits you can do (toboggan ride for £2 a ride, crazy golf £1) and we did the toboggan which was fun. We didn't have to queue for long for any of the rides.
At the beginning we queued at the front of the castle and even if you have purchased tickets online (we had) you have to queue in the same queue as people who hadn't until you get to the front of the queue and show your ticket!! You are all then walking around the castle with hoards of people and can't really take too much in because it's so busy! Down in the dungeons but, dogs aren't allowed so my husband had to leave and wait for us which meant I then had a 9 year old who wouldn't go into the "haunted" dungeon bit and a 14 year old that wanted to, so we had to go in separately with each of them to see bits they wanted to see and look after the dog outside.
The gnome village is cute but needs a bit of an update.
The signage and map wasn't great, and we had to ask staff a few times where things were.
Food is expensive and the queues were very long!
Gift shop is disappointing - nothing "special" and considering how much they push the gnome / pixie thing, nothing gnome or pixie related in the shop.
We enjoyed the fountain / organ show.
Nice place, but definitely needs a bit of money and TLC shown to update it a bit.
They do an offer of getting there at 1.30 for cheaper, definitely do that if you are staying nearby as you don't need all day there. We were going to attend the sunset at the castle one evening, however, the image they have used is clearly AI generated as you can't even see the bay from where the "sunset" sessions is set up, so be mindful of that!!
