Welsh Mountain Zoo的点评
点评：Great day out with loads to see. I went with my friends but it would be great for families and as a date. Do note that as the name suggests it is on a sort of mountain or hill and is steep in parts when walking up.
They had a large variety of animals including some of my favourites- otters and red squirrels - some of the aniline were a bit difficult to see but that’s standard for a zoo as animals do like to hide.
They had a number of feeding times and talks to go to throughout the day.
We ate at the restaurant near the tiger enclosure which was great. There was a bit of a delay on food and was slightly pricy but not outrageous and I did feel I was happy with the portion size.
I wouldn’t eat at the cafe near the penguins/seals however. My friend brought a coffee from there and as a trained barista I noticed when the lady was making the drinks the jugs that were used to steam the milk were not being washed between each drink as they should be, they were however reused with milk that had sometimes been sat in the jug and previously steamed 10 mins ago and then when the next coffee order came in the jug was just topped up and re-steamed so there’s no telling how many times that milk had been steamed or how long it had been sitting out. I did feel bad for the staff member though as she was clearly rushed off her feet as the only one serving, making drinks, put out orders and calling out orders.
All in all a great day out. I recommend taking some layers of clothing though to put on as can be quite chilly when at the top of the zoo and would’ve benefited from a coat even in August.
