Lovely little railway with fantastic views.

点评：We have an 8 yo and he loves trains so we always like to visit a new railway on hols so thought we'd try this one. The engines are lovely, well cared for as are the carriages in the main, and the trip is lovely with fantastic scenery. Parking isn't far away and not massively expensive, couple this with the slate museum (which is free) then you have a good half day day out for not much.
The only two things I'd improve and why it's 4 not 5 stars are these. 1, it needs a kid element for younger ones, the welsh highland railway has a shed kids go to to learn about the railway and the drivers involve them in moving lights and points, be great if these could too. 2. The carriage windows on the lake side are worn, the ones that drop are all crazed and do need replacing to help views.
Over all a fab day out.
