A lovely ‘must see’ if visiting Hoy!

点评：We visited Hoy from mainland Orkney with a van for two days with an overnight camp-out with my wife and two small children (12 and 8).
We actually used this roadside spot for our overnight camp-out as we were advised that it was also one of the best places to spot the Sea Eagles.
Although we didn’t see the Eagles, we did visit the ‘Stane’ first thing in the day as soon as the midges died down a bit. The site is a short walk from the road along a well-worn footpath. There is a boardwalk on the boggier parts of the short route to the site, and it is a small incline, but nothing too difficult.
The location itself is incredible! Like everywhere in Orkney, the tranquility is second to none. Inside is really fascinating and trying to spot the graffiti added to the fun for the kids. Although this is a small attraction, I think it’s a lovely little ‘must see’ on the way through the island.
