Fantastic tour of this beautiful property

点评：Great day out to Paxton House today, my first visit was 28 years ago! This was my 4th visit and my husbands 3rd over the last 4 years. Beautiful house and grounds, our guide Carol is the same guide we’ve been lucky enough to have for the past 3 visits, Each tour has taught us new things about the history of this fabulous property, and each one has been entertaining and engaging. As my husband is keen on furniture particularly Chippendale, Carol remembered us, We had taken my Mother In Law who is on her first visit to Northumberland and has limited mobility, but she was able to sit in each room and thoroughly enjoyed it. As we’re Historic House members we may return later in the week for a longer visit to the grounds as we had a booking this afternoon to attend. The tour was a good 1.5hrs but it flew by.
We’ve previously stayed at the Caravan park in the Walled Garden and will be back on our next visit in our Motorhome as it’s a beautiful site and you have access to the grounds after closing.
We were also lucky enough to meet and speak to the last owner of the House who bequeathed it to the charitable trust who run it, we had a lovely conversation about his experience growing up at the house and the renovation of the water mill.
Definitely recommend this House to visit if you’re in the area
