An amazing, important monument to the Holocaust
The National Holocaust Centre and Museum的点评
点评:An amazing place. I visited for the first time on 26 January 2025, as there were a couple of talks linked with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The permanent Holocaust exhibition is excellent, taking you through to the end of WWII and beyond. Unfortunately the Journey exhibition about the Kindertransports is closed due to being refurbished at the moment, but I will definitely be visiting again once it’s reopened.
The two talks were by a curator in the morning about why the Holocaust must never be forgotten.
The second talk was very special - a survivor spoke to us about his life, and it was very moving. The remembrance gardens have thousands of memorial plaques for victims, and lots of sculptures. It is very moving.
I think this place is such an important place to educate people about the evil that men can do. If we know what has happened in the past, hopefully we can stop it happening again.
I only found out about this remarkable place by randomly googling on the internet. It needs to be much more widely known about.
An amazing place. Keep up the good work.
