点评:This a touching and memorable place but since our last visit a lot of work has begun on the renovation. This makes it more difficult to navigate than previously but it will be interesting to see the finished product.
There is a great deal of factual information, both written and in the form of video recordings from survivors. The lighting is atmospheric but can make it difficult to read the panels.
The shop stock was much improved from our last visit with a good range of books that you would not be likely to find in a ordinary bookshop. The temporary café has a limited menu but their cheese scones were delicious.
The site is obviously well used by school groups as an educational resource.
On a pleasant day, it is worth looking around the gardens even if the roses aren’t in bloom and spend a little time reading some of the dedications.
If you are a member of English Heritage, two people get in for the price of one.
