点评:Evening 4:30pm and we had an hour of Local Guide tour and thus able to better appreciate the Old Town, from the prominent & recognizable Preseren Sq to Robba Fountain, Dragon to Tripple Bridge (Tromostovje)
Richly stuffed with history the architecture of the Town is a mix of styles since BCE, from Roman ruins to the Medieval period transcending Baroque-style and ending with Austrian-influence. The historic center and capital of Slovenia definitely offers a lot!
We have an hour of free time to explore. It was early-Dec and a great experience as the city got dressed up for Xmas ( of hot chestnuts, mulled wine & other fairs ). ! There was the beautifully lit huge Christmas tree that draws all the eyeballs and photos shot. Surrounding are mainly retail shops and F&Bs where one can try out Slovenian delicacy’s, we bought chocolates.. Designated a car-free pedestrian only zone one can stroll freely at your leisure and be attracted by the fascinating retail therapy & alfresco cafes at the historic buildings. The fusion of cobbled streets, classical music, cafe culture to the chilled winter wind makes for an amazing combination, fast growing to be the Go-To place.
The bridge portion was the most packed but there’s where the main public toilets are.!
We understand it is a UNESCO designated spot too.
Really fascinated by the Town’s vibe.
