Small City With Beauty and Charm to Spare

点评：Ljubljana is a post-card perfect small city that, despite countless rave reviews, remains largely undiscovered.
Most of the attractions on this site are basically at the center of town along the river. These include the attractive triple bridge, Preserin Square, St. Nicholas Cathedral, Central Market, and dragons, all of which are under the shadow of the ancient castle above it. Much of the town is characterized by the Art Nouveau designs of Joze Plecnik. You can take countless great pictures just walking around for an hour or two.
While the appearance is wonderful, the vibe is even better. The river is lined on both sides with cafes that are the town's social hub for much of the year. They even have blankets in cooler weather so you can still enjoy the outside. People use the riverside to socialize throughout the day.
One great pleasure here is to get a glass of wine (yes, a glass -- plastic cups are rarely in evidence) and stroll along the banks looking at the unique shops. The vast majority of Slovenians speak English, so communication is rarely a problem.
This is one of those sites where the main attraction is just being here and soaking up the atmosphere.
