点评：This was my first visit to Georges Island in Halifax Harbour. You take a ferry ride out to the island and you can stay as long as you like. You can take a picnic lunch and have your lunch on the island. There are several picnic tables there to use. You just have to be aware of when the last ferry of the day is. Interesting spot to see and how the island contributed to keeping the Harbour safe in the early days. There is a French and English tour available explaining the tunnels under the fort. Worthwhile to take the tour to see how the fort was defended.
The ferry ride to the island is only a short ride. It provides great views of both the city of Halifax and Dartmouth waterfronts.
It’s a fair price, cheaper if you hold a Parks Canada pass.
