Very interesting underground city complex visited during Green Tour

点评：We recently visited the Derinkuyu underground city as part of a Green Tour operated by My Trip Travel organised out of Goreme and Uchisar. It was the last stop on our day tour completed in the mid-afternoon prior to returning to our hotel.
Our group spent around half an hour at Derinkuyu (13 Euro per foreign person if visited independently) and found visiting with a guide very useful. Our guide led us down 7 levels into the underground city describing some interesting tidbits about the vast number of people who would have used the bunker like configuration for occasional protection as well as year round storage of their food and drink items by locals in centuries past.
The complex is quite impressive featuring numerous rooms, hallways, defensive measures, air vents and water wells much of which would have been difficult to identify and navigate without the assistance of an informed guide.
In the end, we quite enjoyed our experience at Derinkuyu. There were a couple of challenging spots, particularly the last climb back out which required us to bend and crouch quite low to make our way out. Definitely something to think about for those with any type of walking mobility or claustrophobia. Otherwise, it was a fun short visit to make as part of the Green Tour.
