Pretty buildings, friendly staff, don't miss the carriage barns

点评：Partial Review. We didn't get inside the main building or Anderson Homestead. Our timing landed us behind a school bus full of kids so we just did the grounds.Location at top of hill in city center area, residential, not what you would expect. Barns had MANY vehicles, hearses, wagons, buggies, well worth a look. Outside of buildings is pretty. Grounds are grass with gravel pass for fort and regular sidewalk and stairs for house. I am disabled and old, I found the trip from the fort to the barns steep and uncomfortable. Bring your walker or stabilizing device. Barns are flat and paved so no problem once you are there. House is across the street on a regular block, so just the stairs as pictured. Staff was really nice, considerate, she stopped us at the door and warned us there was a truckload of kids in there and we might want to wait. We waited for a bit but they didn't come out so finally left. Irony alert. We drove downtown to look around got into a huge detour due to construction and behind us., eventually, was that bus! Timing is everything.
