DO NOT visit Sepik CYRIL TARA! Don't trust him!!!!!

点评：The Sepik River is definitely worth a visit. Is a very special area of PNG, with traditions very much alive. But chose well the guide to take you because you will be dependent of him, and definitely DO NOT GO WITH CYRIL TARA!! He cannot be trusted!
We found him here on tripadvisor, on the first contact he was quick to answer, sending photos, had a very good price, but everything ended up bad....we had a deal to send a part of the money first and pay the rest in person, some time after he asked to send more money, and just a week before we arrived he wrote saying that there was some problem and now the trip was more expensive and we had to give him more money. At this point we were afraid to lose everything we already paid so we agreed. During the trip we ended up eating very badly (sharing 1 can of tuna with bread full of mold, and rice with instant nodles) we were left in the boat in the middle of heavy rain because they run out of petrol, and the worst of all is that ALL OUR MONEY DISAPPEARED from our bags!! And the only time we left the bags unattended was when we were having dinner at Cyrils house, at his village of Kamanibit. The house where we stay is right in front of his house, in the family property, and he is the only person going in and out while we are outside eating at the table. We spoke with him, but he did not seemed shocked with the news or did much to help, I wonder why......The place has no doors or locks, the toilet smells horribly from 10m away, and to finish the terrible experience, we got bed bugs!!!!
Also, at the end, we heard some horrible things about him and things that he has done to previous clients. So please be safe, do not make the same mistake as we did. Do not trust this man, he is not a good person!
