点评:We loved Corcovado NP. It is the best park in Costa Rica for experiencing jungle habitat and wildlife. There is more of everything there and it is relatively uncrowded. But there are some caveats. It is logistically difficult to get there, you need 2 night's lodging in Drake Bay itself, it is expensive to get there, and it is expensive to get into the park itself.
Getting there-driving yourself from the San Jose area may take as long as 7-8 hours with complicated directions. It appears to be almost impossible to get there by public transport. Paying a driver would be long and expensive. We ended up flying from San Jose to the Drake Bay airport ($160 pp). To fly back to SJ was similar.
You can only enter Corcovado with a recognized guiding company. There are a lot of guiding services to choose from and should be set up long before you actually get to Drake Bay or Costa Rica itself. Our guiding company charge was $750 for two people (which included an overnight inside the park).
There are other ways to enter Corcovado besides catching a boat with 10-20 people from the beach in Drake Bay for an hour or so journey down the Pacific Ocean. There are other entrances to the park but this process seemed one of the more common ways to do it.
In mid March, it was 95F and at least 95% humidity, for what is usually a 3 hour leisurely jungle walk. Your clothes are immediately sopping wet.
Corcovado NP was well worth it but it is not a simple thing to do.
BTW, we saw Puma and Tapir there. No jaguar.
