The ONLY PUBLIC BEACH in Bora Bora. Read If You Want To Know The Particulars!

点评：Most people think of Bora Bora as pristine and beautiful beaches that are endless. The statement is true, but only one problem. The Hotels own their own beaches and they do not allow anyone to use them. The island is surrounded by an reef and those large reefs with land are where the hotels are located. They require boats to get you to and from the airport or the town of Bora Bora. The boats are free since the cost of the rooms are between $2000 to $7000 PER NIGHT. Our cruise ship arrived in the town of Bora Bora and there is only one (1) beach for the public on the main island. Matira Beach is the name and it is stunning and nice. From the center of town there are a myriad of trucks and small buses that take you to and from the beach for only $5 per person each way. Hard to beat in a place where everything is expensive. Those small trucks run to and from the beach about every 15 minutes all day long. Taxis want $25 each way. Stick with the truck/van shuttles. Also very important! The beach is filled with stingrays coming right up to the edge of the beach. They are very tame and do not bother you and even dont mind having their pictures taken up close. It was a lot of fun. Snorkeling, bathrooms and food are on the beach as well for a small amount of money. Hard to beat this beach!
