Good show, lousy food
Tiki Village Cultural Center的点评
点评：The show was five star. The food was one star. It averages to three star.
I was picked up from my hotel and driven to the other side of the island to the Tiki Village for a Polynesian evening. When we arrived, we were shown the village and then invited to watch the opening of the Ahi maa, the Tahitian oven. Then we saw a coconut show, followed by a pareo show. A man and a woman demonstrated different ways to tie a pareo.
I was not pleased with dinner. They had a buffet. The main dish was roast suckling pig, but they also had chicken. However, by the time I got to the buffet, nearly all of the chicken was gone. I asked the woman who was refilling the dishes if there was any more chicken. She gave me the dregs of the serving tray. It was mostly skin and bone. Then the server came to my table and asked how everything was.
Me: I was not pleased. They ran out of chicken and I can't eat pork.
Server: There's plenty of pork.
Me: I can not eat any pork.
Server: There is a full dish of pork at the buffet. [She returns to my table with the tray of pork!]
To make matters worse, the vegetables were mostly au gratin. I can't eat cheese with meat. So I did not enjoy this meal.
The Polynesian show was very good. It featured music, dancing, and fire! After the show, we were able to have a photo with the performers. The bus then returned us to our accommodation.
