A must see TN state park!
Pickett CCC Memorial State Park的点评
点评：I wish I could give this state park 10 stars! I had booked a cabin in advance, and was terrified that my family was going to be miserable for 2 whole days in a "rustic cabin". We ended up having such an amazing time that we could have stayed longer. The cabin was incredibly spacious, clean, and full of amenities (cooking supplies, bedding). The only thing it lacked was a TV, which we don't usually watch too much of anyway, so we didn't care.
The park itself has so much to offer, from hiking trails to the spectacular rock formations of Natural Bridge and Hazard Cave to kayaking (only $8 rental for the hour!) along the small lake and under the stone arch. It has a small sand beach where you can swim or watch the bats fly at night and is only 2 miles away from an official dark sky park (though you can obviously enjoy the night skies right here as well!).
Also close by (within about 10 minutes) is Pogue Creek Canyon, which has its own amazing hiking trails to out of this world rock formations. The visitor center has maps that they provide to these areas, but also consider using Avenza, as the trails can sometimes be confusing in spots.
The staff was very accommodating and helpful. If you have any reservations about coming here, push them out of your mind! It's a real gem. My kids ranked their stay and hiking here above Great Smoky National Park!
