点评：We were blown away. Like WOW! We’d expected great things but this museum is astounding. First of all, it is huge. The size of a museum of this sort that I would expect to see in a large city such as Cape Town. Secondly, the collection is extensive. It covers each and every aspect of the maritime field that one could even think of. Thirdly, the quality of the displays is world class. One can see that it has been curated with great passion and care. Then, the staff are great. They took their time to chat to us. Immediately available for any questions but also not “in your space”. They were very friendly and helpful. And finally, the museum was “pitched” at all types of people. Scholars, members of the public, even scientists, etc. It was easy to understand but also extremely detailed and informative. We’ll definitely return every year when we visit Luderitz. Well done to all involved! You can be very proud!!
Budget more time than you think you’ll need! There is SO much to see and there are some interactive displays. There were no crowds when we went in January. The little curio ship was not yet open when we visited, but already fully stocked - so take some extra money for that! They have beautiful items.
