点评:Our tour of Vietnam included a visit to see Uncle Ho. We'd already been told that you needed to dress appropriately - in a similar way to visiting any religious site really - and to have covered shoulders and trousers on (not shorts). At the ticket entrance, there was security like at an airport. You then queue under walkways with a roof that keep the sun off.
You then enter the main square and have a view of the outside of the Mausoleum. Again, we had to queue, but it does move as they keep people flowing through the complex. It's fairly small, you walk in and go up the steps - there are guards and cameras on the stairs. You then shuffle past Ho Chi Minh and work your way back out the other side - you're only in there 1-2 minutes max. I tried to slow down my walk a little bit and the guard politely said "please keep walking" so just bear in mind that they're always watching you!
I'd already visit Lenin's Mausoleum in Red Square so had experienced something very similar. Our guide explained that it had been the same lab that had prepared Uncle Ho. This mausoleum and experience isn't on the same scale as the Russian one, but I think it's still important to see, and even if you don't enjoy it / think much of it, when you look around at what it means to the Vietnamese who will be visiting when you are, that says something.
