点评：Visiting Hỏa Lò Prison is a sobering but very insightful experience. The museum gives a glimpse into Vietnam’s complex history—from colonial resistance against the French to the Vietnam War era when American POWs were held here.
Highly recommend taking the audio headset, especially if you’re in a couple or small group. It’s well-organized and adds a lot of valuable context as you move through the exhibits. The narration really helps bring the stories to life and makes the visit much more meaningful.
It takes about 1 to 2 hours to go through the museum depending on how much time you spend at each section. Some parts can be quite moving, especially the preserved prison cells and the personal stories.
If you’re interested in history and want to understand more about Vietnam’s past, this is definitely worth a visit.
