Disrespectful Treatment of Visitors at Saqsaywaman

点评：This is my second visit to Peru, and in almost every case I've had positive experiences — except for Saqsaywaman. What century is its administration living in?
Why is there no simple audio guide available for the main points of interest? Why not print plastic QR codes and place them around the site, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace and actually learn something meaningful?
The truth is, the management of Saqsaywaman doesn't seem to care about visitors — or even the site itself. If they did, they would care about the quality of the information that people receive. During my visit, I saw dozens of foreign tourists wandering around aimlessly. Not enough English-speaking guides? Then make a proper audio guide. It's not complicated.
I probably wouldn't have written this review if I hadn't just visited a small, humble colonial art museum in Arequipa a few days earlier. The Carmelite sisters there (may they be blessed!) provided QR codes at the entrance of every hall — clear, accessible, multilingual. You can take the tour in any order, at your own pace. And they have a fraction of the resources Saqsaywaman does.
This isn’t about money. It’s about attitude. The administration knows perfectly well how to use the internet — especially when asking for donations. But when it comes to offering visitors a scientifically accurate and comfortable experience of one of the most important archaeological sites in Peru, they fall completely short.
Saqsaywaman is an extraordinary place — but it deserves an administration that treats it, and its visitors, with dignity.
Shame on those who choose mediocrity and neglect over care and respect.
