My wife and I did the tour on 5.11.24 and were VERY disappointed.
Prompt pickup in a brand new van on time was OK.. -Driver was only interested in talking about his rich family his wife,family members living in Australia etc.=No attempt to point out sights on the way.=We had to ask pointed questions !!
TRAVEL ROUTE PROMISE ::==Make a stop in Ba, a lively Indo-Fijian town, to visit the local market and soak in the bustling atmosphere.== All we saw was a car park where we were asked to change from the van into an old taxi driven by a relative ? since the driver/guide did not want to damage his new van on the gravel road.=For the 1 hour trip on the rough road our guide sat in front with his friend and chatted away in Hindi .==AGAIN: No offer to stop for photos or explanations.=
Upon arrival:==Promised traditional ‘Sevusevu’ ceremony, welcoming you to the village == Did NOT happen !!!.==After arrival it took a while for 2 Fijian women to appear who were VERY surprised to see us .= HAD NOT EXPECTED US .
One agreed to show us around after paying;F$$35 each. = Met NO ONE else in the village and the showing of the Bures took 5 minutes. Then we were asked to buy a few souvenirs-
Our drivers were NOT invited to walk around and stood under a shade tent.,
Supposedly included in tour:=Enjoy a leisurely lunch (cost not included).==DID NOT HAPPEN !!!==
On the return drive we had to ASK for a toilet break because the driver/guide seemed to be in a harry to get us back to Nadi.
So with the tour cost of $199 each ,bought lunch in an supermarket on the way out,entrance fee of $35 the tour cost us around $260 EACH.
I booked the tour after reading the interesting details and the whole thing turned out to be an UNORGANIZED rip-off. Until Aquatours Fiji get their communication with the village organized I would NOT recommend taking this tour.
