Walked from the ship and had a great day at the beach!

点评：My spouse and I walked from the cruise. You cannot walk the entire way along the beach, so walk from the cruise port (walk out of the port towards the left and follow the road). It is a busy road without sidewalk, but we felt safe walking off the side. It was sandy/dirty. If you are with small children or have mobility issues, I’d recommend a taxi. There is no sidewalk. It was a 15ish minute walk.
Once we got to the beach we were greeted by a few locals. There are a couple of sets of chairs with umbrellas, some reserved for excursions. We paid $25 for both of us for a great spot under an umbrella.
People were rounding taking food and drink orders. You can also go up to them and order at the tent (yeah, tent). Keep in mind that the food is made to order- so be patient. The daiquiris were $10 each and the burger was $10. The burger was fresh and tasty- it was too big, so we split it.
The water is amazing- reminded me of 7 mile beach in cayman. I’m a swimmer and got in a two mile open water swim, not going too far out and going back and forth between where all the tourists were.
The beach was not too crowded even with two cruise ships in.
Do yourself a favor and do not go to the beach right off of the ship- it looked insanely crowded (looked like spring break). This beach was worth traveling to- the few minute extra walk will make your vacation far more relaxing and enjoyable.
