点评：We visited the café for brunch. The gardens were as beautiful and well maintained as ever. However, the food in the café seems to have deteriorated. The vegetarian breakfast now includes bland, sausage-shaped squashed up vegetables instead of the nice veggie sausages I’d had previously. My husband ordered a large Victorian breakfast, which was served on a fairly small plate and didn’t look particularly large. The portions generally seemed smaller and didn’t represent value for money in our opinion, at over £32 for 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees.
We were asked to pay as soon as we ordered and when the food was served we weren’t offered any sauces etc., despite a group of staff standing around chatting next to our table.
All in all it was a disappointing meal, and although we’ve been many times in the past, in the future we will visit the gardens but won’t be eating in the café again.
