点评：The beautiful Dominican church is huge with highlights including a gargantuan St. Christopher -- over forty feet tall -- by Antonio da Treviso. The interior sparkles with an early Renaissance work by Bartolo di Fredi, several pieces by Lorenzo Lotto, an 18th century replica of Da Vinci's Last Supper, and mannerist/baroque piece by Vicentino, Zanchi, Savoldo and Carboncino -- several are "plague" paintings celebrating the defeat of the plague by different saints. Perhaps the best part of the painting complex in the church are the frescoes on the columns of the church -- each of the twelve columns is decorated with a fresco by Tommaso da Modena. Beautifully and in quite wonderful condition.
The great highlight of the church complex is in the Chapter House behind the church. In the middle of the fourteenth century, Tommaso da Modena completed a marvelous Gothic fresco cycle, in excellent condition, featuring forty Dominican saints, each individual in his own cell, reading or writing at a deck.
