Anstruther Pleasure Cruises-Boat Day Tours的点评
点评：We were on the July 27th trip. First of all,mad props to the crew. Real pros but super friendly and entertaining. We loved everything about this excursion! Booking online was easy and the confirmation email gave good instructions on how and when to get checked in on the morning of our cruise. We were staying only a few blocks away, so we didn't have to fuss with parking, so I can't comment on that, but nothing is very far away in Anstruther, so wherever you're coming from in town, you're practically already at the harbor!
The boat was full, but because we were some of the first in line, we were able to choose where we wanted to sit, which was up front, inside. It was a chilly morning with clouds, and I wanted to be warm. However, about half way to the island, we left the clouds behind and it ended up being a gorgeous sunny day. I ended up with a wee sunburn!
As we got closer to the island the captain pointed out puffins on the water and boy was that cool. They were bouncing along the surface like skipping stones! Then they would be off like a rocket into the air. I had no idea how fast they are. Hard to get photos, but I'm happy to have the memories.
Along the shore and in the tiny harbor we saw seals, jellyfish, gulls and other birds I'm too uneducated to name, but it was all so beautiful. W
We packed a little lunch to bring along and after wandering up to the light house, we sat at a picnic table and enjoyed our food with a great view. We made our way out to the cliffs and saw puffins, though they kept their distance. Really, everywhere you turn you get treated to a new beautiful vista or wildlife.
On the trip home we were able to circle the island and see the cliffs and birds from that perspective. We even saw a peregrine falcon!
