Scottish Vintage Bus Museum的点评
点评：This was my 3rd time at the annual open weekend, this being a special one as it was the 30th anniversary weekend.
Had an absolutely fantastic weekend yet again. There was loads of vintage vehicles (not just buses) on display as well as numerous stalls with an array of items and collectables for sale. The site itself is huge with an internal bus service that will take you around the different sheds, workshops and displays. The internal services, as well as the excursions, P&R shuttles and Dunfermline services are operated by heritage vehicles owned by the museum as well as visiting vehicles.
We took the Motorhome so had 2 nights on site, which was great as we had the site to ourselves once the visiting public had left, an ideal opportunity to get pictures.
The excursions are great, and included in the entry fee. We did the Forth Bridges tour in a very well preserved tartan Bristol VR. It’s a popular excursion so they tend to put 3 or 4 open top vehicles on it.
The site itself is very well laid out. There are numerous toilet blocks around the site with accessible facilities and they are spotless. The cleaning team do a fantastic job.
There are a couple of cafes run by the museum and I have to say, the homemade sandwiches and caramel shortbread is the best I’ve ever had. They also have a visiting hot food van and ice cream van.
The volunteers and staff at the museum are an amazing group of people. They are so friendly and knowledgable and are very visible around the site. They work tirelessly to ensure the visiting public get a great experience, a fantastic job.
This beats, hands down, any other vintage vehicle museum open day by a lunar mile. If you only ever visit once, I highly recommend it. I’m now hooked.
