点评：The Weaver's House (Weberhaus) is a historic guildhall situated along Maximilianstraße at Moritzplatz in Old Town. Originally, Weberhaus was built during the late 14th-century and was the focal point for Augsburg's textile trade during the Middle Ages. Unfortunately, it was demolished and rebuilt a couple of times during the past century, giving us the building that can be seen today.
Probably the most interesting feature of the Weberhaus are the early 17th-century frescoes that adorn the exterior of the building. These are the works of city painter Matthias Kager (1605-07), fragments of the originals can be found in the Maximilianmuseum. What you see today are replicas painstakingly reproduced upon the facade of the present building. They are beautiful and worth spending a few minutes to enjoy while sightseeing around Old Town.
